Medical rounds apps

Origin story:

This program was developed when one of our consultants was preparing for his medical board exam and realized that there was no good mobile training, education, and board preparatory system available. The best resources that could be found were outdated paper question banks and high priced banks that were only available on PCs. Ultimately he wanted a program that operated on the phone, that was affordable, and allowed maximal flexibility in accessing questions and training with others. The initial intent of these apps was to be like rounding on a patient and having the attending ask questions –  but it has become much more than that.

How to use:
First, use this app to test your knowledge of common and obscure topics in field of study chosen. Each question should teach you something about the topic area. As you progress through the 1,100+ questions you should be exposed to every major area of the field. References have been added that can be used to confirm answers and learn more about the subject to enhance studying.

Along these lines, each question is identified as to which portion of the board exam and knowledge area that it applies to. You can use the SCORE page to assess how you are performing sub-topic areas. Second, this program should be used in residency programs or otherwise to study with others. Use FIND A QUESTION to allow the entire group to review the same standard questions together and discuss the correct and incorrect answers. Lastly, residency programs interested in group purchasing this app can use it to track the number of questions that their residents complete as part of their training program metrics and goals (individual data is not available in aggregate and programs would need permission to access the individual’s phone to review results).
